Akshay Kumar Sponsor India’s Karate Championship -Bollywood’s action icon Akshay Kumar is all set to jump into the ring now! The actor has decided to sponsor India`s first ever open Karate championship.

According to a news daily, the championship will be named ‘Akshay Kumar Invitational Open’, and will feature 2,000 fighters from across the country. Akshay is backing Shihan Mehul Vora, an instructor with over 27 years of experience, who is planning to invite some international coaches and observers for the same to add more substance to the event.

Talking about his interest in martial arts, Akshay said, “My father insisted I learn martial arts when I was nine. I even went to Bangkok to become a master. Even today I practice for two hours”.

“Martial arts is not about violence. It`s a form of discipline that can change your life,” Akki added.
