Thanks to A&E TV a little known but crippling disorder is gaining widespread popularity. “Hoarders” showcases the lives of two people in each episode, who are compulsively hooked on to collecting various things but cannot imagine parting with the things, they have collected even after several years. The hoarding habit of hoarders is blown up into a full fledge crisis often hindering their day to day routine. The series first make it home to the patients that they have a problem and that they need help. The help involves treating the hoarders for psychological dependence they have developed to their things and cleaning the place. The whole process is filmed in reality TV like style. The show is among the most favorite shows on TV. The process of recovery is bound to be a tormented one as the psychological dependence won’t go easily. The new season of the show would be premiered on Monday Nov. 30.
Take the case of Judi that would be a part of the series. Her home was so full of garbage that she had to be
pulled out from a window. Stray animals were roaming freely in the house. The home itself was just a mess, broken windows, broken and bent water and gas lines etc and there was no way that the house could be sold. The whole situation meant that the family would almost be without any funds to get Judi the care she needed. There was no way that authorities could have let Judi live in that house.
Health care professionals are concerned that the show may make the condition a thing to be amused about, however the persons involved are in serious need of medical attention.
