Obama School Speech Text-On September 8 President Barack Obama will deliver a speech about education to students tomorrow. Broadcasting live from noon onwards, Obama’s plan to speak to the students has already 
stirred up quite a controversy among both schools and parents. Some are calling it a valuable classroom lesson while others fear that the president may be using this as an opportunity for propaganda.
This Obama address may not happen at all, for some students at least. Since the announcement of the scheduled address, the idea has been met with controversy. Actually, controversy is is an understatement to describe the furor over this planned address. Some parents and conservatives have called the speech an excuse to brainwash their children and are calling for a boycott of the address. With Republicans and conservative bloggers joining the fray, it seems the issue has gotten out of hand.
George Bush gave a similar speech to students during his time and it was met with some oppositions as well, though a lot milder that what Obama’s speech is now facing. At that time, it was the Democrats opposing the address.
Some schools have already announced that they won’t broadcast the planned Obama address and that left many students disappointed. In an attempt to cool down the controversy and let parents and schools review the speech beforehand, the White House will be releasing the text of the address the day before it’s scheduled airing.ngr332
