Opm Operating Status, federal government closings,opm.gov,Opm Operating Status,It’s official now that the federal government is closed on Tuesday, 9 February 2010 in accordance with OPM.gov. Obviously, the federal government is closed on Tuesday, not your budget, but due to the big snowstorm.
We could hardly get on the website and saw the announcement opm.gov.
A notice on the page reads: “Due to high volume of traffic, the other pages OPM.gov not available now. Please try again later.”
The main message is of course the federal government operating status in the washington DC area. It says “Closed. Federal agencies in the Washington DC area are closed.”
What the notice essentially says is that the non emergency government employees will be granted excused absence for the number of hours they are scheduled to work. But this rule does not apply to employees on leave without pay of any type. Nevertheless, telework employees may be expected to work on their telework sites. Emergency employees should report for work on time. Employees on alternative work schedules will not get compensated for the closed workday.
