Well, the Powerball Numbers for May 27 2009 are in and there is only one winner. That one winning ticket was sold in South Dakota and the winner will receive $232,100 dollars over 30 years or a one-time cash “lump sum” amount of $118,005,530. The winning numbers are 5 6 12 16 21 7 (Powerball).
Like most people hit by the economy, I threw my hat into the Powerball ring by buying $5.00 worth of tickets. The best I could do was to match 2 numbers on the same ticket. Although, in the past, I have actually matched 4 numbers two weeks in a row. At that time, matching four brought home a whopping $32.00.
I don’t put my hopes on the Lottery, expecting to ever win or have it change my life. I usually only buy a ticket when the pot gets to be really big. But for a short period of time, it’s nice every now and then to wonder, what if?
